Description

The General Merchandise business at Ocado is experiencing rapid growth both via ocado.com and in the creation of our new ‘destination’ sites (fetch.co.uk, sizzle.co.uk and fabled.com) which specialise in specific categories. Ocado General Merchandise now runs a ‘bricks and mortar’ store on Tottenham Court Road in London which supports Fabled and are looking for a motivated and experienced beauty and wellness consultant to join the team.

The purpose of this role is to be an ambassador for skincare, wellbeing and beauty within the store, offering expert advice to customers. To contribute to increasing sales of own, store and ultimately the business through exceeding customers’ expectations, driving sales and sharing product expertise. To act as an ambassador for the Company and store and an expert for the customers.

Key responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Ensure every customer is acknowledged and greeted in a timely manner
  • Shop floor support – Make up, Skin care, Fragrance, wellbeing and Hair consultations through the use of a variety of conversational skills to ascertain customer needs
  • Handling customer questions, issues and complaints in a professional manner
  • Ensure customer loyalty scheme is introduced to every customer
  • Use unbiased product knowledge to promote benefits and cross sell across whole product range
  • Actively promote complimentary skincare, health and wellbeing and beauty consultations

Shop Floor:

  • Maximise sales potential of every customer
  • Operate the till accurately providing fast service and complying with the cash handling guidelines and till code of practice
  • Ensure store visual standards are adhered to at all times
  • Consistently maintains good housekeeping standards to ensure customer areas are always clean and to Company standards
  • Proactive in replenishment of stock to maximise sales
  • Understand and adhere to Company loss prevention practices
  • Take responsibility for own Health & Safety and that of others following Company procedures
  • Portray a professional image at all times in line with the Company grooming policy and demonstrate a high level of personal hygiene
  • Contribute to and maintain store targets, taking care of stock and equipment
  • Take responsibility for supporting team members in the development of customer service, selling skills and product knowledge
  • Support and train new colleagues
  • Take responsibility for own timekeeping, be at work on time on all occasions
  • Build good working relations with the team and other areas of the business
  • Listens to others’ ideas and opinions and shows respect
  • Create a positive, welcoming and open store environment by taking pride in getting the job done and contributing towards achieving the team’s goals
  • Willing to help others without being asked
  • Support store stock takes as and when required
  • Participate in store evening events when required
