We are looking to recruit two technical support engineers with a technical background to join our central automation engineering team. Working as part of the technical support team within central Automation Engineering you will support the automation engineering aspects of our new build customer fulfilment centres (CFC’s) both in the UK and around the world (through Ocado Solutions).

 Role & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the Engineering Change Process for automation products
  • Provide support to Product Specialists
  • Maintain technical documentation for products handed over to Central Automation Engineering
  • Technical Communications and product updates across teams and to relevant stakeholders
  • Identify and coordinate applicable engineering change requests
  • Maintain and communicate project technical documentation
  • Provide support to planning colleagues as required

 What are we after?

  • Ability to multitask and manage/prioritise a complex diary with multiple simultaneous activities
  • Be able to perform unsupervised on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Commercially aware and consider cost impacts on decisions and proposals
  • Communication of complex technical information in a variety of forms to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Good technical competence and understanding relating to both automation and general engineering
  • The ability to use CAD packages such as Solidworks, AutoCAD etc would be a distinct advantage
  • Presentation skills, comfortable preparing for and  leading regular review and updates
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google suite of products and ideally MS Project
  • Technical qualification, to HND or Degree level 
  • Customer focused
