The Salesforce team consists of a growing team of 7 and sits in the Enterprise Applications department which supports all of Ocado. We provide and build an ecosystem of apps underpinning business processes for the smooth running of our organisation.
What you'll be doing
The main purposes of this role are to maintain and develop new apps and integrations between Salesforce and external systems. Besides building apps programmatically as well as declaratively while adhering to Salesforce’s best practice of ‘Clicks before Code’ you will rebuild and redesign existing apps to enable mobile use. All apps are based on validated business requirements and agreed with the Salesforce Product Owner and respective business representatives. You will also be responsible for maintaining existing integrations between Salesforce and core systems such as Oracle Financials and LDAP. Further integrations need to be developed using IBM App Connect as well as using Salesforce’s web services.
What we'd like to see
For this position, you need previous experience in a similar role. Due to the seniority of the role you need to hold the Certified Salesforce Administrator (ADM 201) and Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II certifications.
- 3 – 6 years programming experience on Force.com
- Hands-on, in-depth experience with Apex, VisualForce, SOQL/SOSL, Force.com IDE and Force.com Ajax Toolkit
- Lightning experience (Lightning components and Lightning app builder)
- Experience of using version control systems, e.g. GIT and continuous integration tools, e.g. Jenkins
- Supporting and maintaining integrations with other core systems
- Willingness to self-train on new technologies
- Strong analytical skills and logical approach to problem-solving
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and negotiation skills.
However, this is not a set in stone requirements list. We recognise the software industry is filled with smart people from so many different backgrounds. If you enjoy being part of the team and if you like: learning fast (through experimentation, self-motivation etc); being autonomous but able to collaborate (sharing knowledge is important to us); craftsmanship and innovation (we never stop questioning how we can be better), then we look forward to hearing from you.
What we can offer you
Technically stretching work is a given. We want you to push technological boundaries and create solutions to problems people haven’t even thought about yet; so we’ll give you the freedom and the tools and the playful, stimulating working environment you need to do what’s never been done before. While red tape’s conspicuous by its absence, rewards are plentiful: as well as a competitive salary and share schemes, benefits include pension scheme, interest-free season ticket loan, free shuttle bus from Hatfield train station and, of course, healthy Ocado staff discounts (and free delivery) across our Webshops including Groceries, Fetch, Sizzle and Fabled. We also have Friday socials on the first Friday of every month, sports clubs such as badminton, running and table tennis (and much more) not to mention our frequently used foosball table.
