When you think of Ocado, you probably think of an online supermarket. You probably don't realise that Ocado is the world’s largest online-only grocery retailer, let alone that it is one of the UK’s biggest technology employers who are transforming an entire industry.
However, in retail to stand still is to fall behind, so we are writing our next generation, cloud based grocery platform, the Ocado Smart Platform. Not only will this become the engine powering the Ocado retail business, but in the future it will be used to run the online business for international retailers across the globe.
Ocado Smart Platform (OSP) is an end-to-end online retail platform combining micro-service based software with modular and scalable hardware. It brings together innovative technologies such as our highly automated warehouses, we call them Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs), with market leading software such as our highly efficient routing engines or our highly optimized supply chain & forecasting systems.
This is an exciting time for us and we need a Strategic Partner Manager (SPM) to help us achieve our vision of taking OSP to the next level.
The SPM would form part of an account management team, working closely with the Technical Account Manager (TAM) to assess and resolve client’s needs, and fully understand and track feature requests to resolution. Although the TAM would have a strong technical knowledge of the platform, the SPM would be expected to have a high level understanding of the technologies involved in OSP so that they can better engage clients in high level discussions of solution design.
The SPM role would entail working with the product management team to gain a deep understanding of OSP and how it fits with a retailer's business processes.
The SPM would work with clients who are at all stages of involvement with OSP, from clients who have an initial interest, to clients who are actively using OSP in their retail business. Developing and maintaining a strong relationship with these clients is key to the role, and the SPM would be expected to work with clients to manage and optimize ongoing operational aspects of their business.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working cross-functionally, both internally and externally, to drive partnerships or projects
- Experience in managing strategic partnerships or client relationships
- Experience working for technology companies - managing clients needs and strategic objectives
- Retail / Grocery industry knowledge
- Ability to understand technical complex subjects and technologies and relevance to the project.
- Excellent problem solving and strong analytical skills.
- Language Skills (Not Essential) (French, German, Spanish)
