So what does an intern software developer do at Ocado Technology?
As an intern with Ocado Technology you will work on real development projects from day one and have the opportunity to see the code you develop working in a live production environment. Past interns have worked on projects across all Technology areas including:
CFC (Warehouse) Systems develop the real-time control systems that power our state- of-the-art automated warehouse requiring smart software and even brighter minds.
Routing and Customer Communications build the routing systems which optimise our delivery routes and develop the software created for our call centre and payment systems.
Webshop and Mobile Systems design and implement iOS applications to aid the shopping experience for our customers and enhance functionality of our award winning Webshop and associated destination sites.
Robotics Research develop novel sensor-guided robot solutions to further automate the highly automated manipulation of products within the CFCs.
Placement Opportunities Placements are available for 12 months, 6 months, 4 months and 10 weeks (Summer Internship) commencing in September, April, June and July respectively.
Requirements: You have achieved a minimum 2:1 for each of your course modules to date in a Numerical or Computer Science related degree. You will have strong A-levels (or equivalent) including an A grade in Maths. Ideally you also have a foundation in OOP.
Recruitment Process: Applications are reviewed on a first come first served basis. Assessments will take place in October and November. The process involves an online test (taken at home) and an assessment day that includes technical tests, a technical interview and CV based interview.
